Bush VHF54: replacing the drive cord

After being on my to-do list for the last 4 years, I've finally started work on my vintage family wireless.

This 1950s valve wireless was still working at the end of 2013, although the tuning mechanism had failed.

I bought 2 metres of cord from and eBay supplier, and set about getting it running.

PiHut Vs. Edimax wifi dongles

A couple of weeks ago I swung by the PiHut website to order some bits & pieces.

While I was there I ordered one of their wifi dongles, just so I could try to evaluate its performance compared to my Edimax dumpy dongle.

So I've just spent a couple of hours this afternoon running a few tests.

A Better "Automatic Light" Controller

This may be one of the most ridiculus, unnecessary projects I've ever got involved with.

But sometimes when an idea takes hold, it becomes difficult to shake off.

The idea is to calculate sunset using a SINE function, and use this as the basis for controlling an outside light!
