Want to hide your untidy desktop icons?

 

It doesn't look great to have an untidy desktop if you are giving a presentation to customers or colleagues.

Its easy to temporarily hide desktop icons on Peppermint.

Raspberry Pi: adding extra desktops

As a Lubuntu/LXDE user, I hate many of the changes made to the Raspberry Pi desktop over recent years.

But I have to keep reminding myself that this little single board computer is not targeted towards me.

So this is a memo to me on how to add virtual desktops to a Pi, now that they have removed the Openbox Configuration Manager.

Lubuntu/LXDE: cannot add apps to launch-bar

Having installed a fresh image of Lubuntu 15.10, I found I had a problem adding newly installed applications to the Launch Bar.

A quick search of the internet did not reveal anything useful, so I had to open a few files and work out what was happening.

Strange that I hadn't noticed this problem before!

Lubuntu 14.04 upgrade

As Linux upgrades go, this one was pretty painless.

 

Since fully switching to Linux early in 2008 I've been through some good releases and some not so good.

Sometimes it is down to your hardware, and how good or bad support is for your particular wireless module or graphics card...
