I've never really thought much about the Raspberry Pi camera lens.
They are very small, just like the ones in my Sony mobile phone.
But if I'd been asked what they consist of a couple of days ago, I'd have probably said...
...just a black threaded body with a clear piece of cheap plastic for a lens (like the stuff that drips out of the nozzle of my glue-gun).
Having just partially destroyed one, I decided to go the whole-hog and to break it down into its constituent parts.
What a surprise! I found 7 bits.
Someone with very small fingers must puts these things together!
