You can use an ASDL filter module wherever you split the line between modem and phone; if you had 2 extension sockets you might need a second filter for the second phone. The filter just removes the high frequency stuff so the phone signal is cleaner.

By splitting the lines with a filter at the master socket, you create 2 circuits. In theory, the better the wiring, the better the signals. Conversely, poor wiring may degrade the signal to noise ratio, and the longer the copper, the greater the attenuation.

I hope that helps.SteveDeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10645378028590228663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8042569099194536366.post-9201881863997795102017-11-26T21:59:57.688+00:002017-11-26T21:59:57.688+00:00Hi Steve I am having to move the BT socket from t...Hi Steve I am having to move the BT socket from the skirting which is being removed and whilst doing that the old solwise front plate decided to give up the ghost. I do not use the master switch directly to connect to my modem but use an unfiltered extension to take the cable to both a phone and the modem where it is filtered by another solwise adsl box. Do I really need to add a filter on the master switch if I am using one elsewhere or can I just put the old BT front plate back on the master? Grateful for any advice before I start buying unnecessary kit!Crafty mumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16261693912873770977noreply@blogger.com
